The item is undecorated as was common for these and is of the color of the creamware body with a very tight glaze. They always had one handle on the side for holding them for this purpose. These were made for straining tea of tea leaves when the tea was being poured into a cup and today are far less common than other type of serving pieces. Offered is a small 18th century creamware strainer with a punched out pattern decoration.
